"Sunwarper reveals an open landscape of moving, tranquil, and engaged musical acrobatics defying categorization." (igloomag.com/reviews/selles-sunwarper
"Grab a pair of headphones, find a quiet place and let yourself be transported by Selles' Sunwarper."
"Selles does a good job in spanning the broad spectrum of shoegaze inspired electronica, particularly on the Manual/Schnauss-esque Glass Tourists and Haze of Another Day."
Following the dream inducing atmosphere of the debut full length, We Were Giants, Selles chose to release an album of haunting melodies that dares to journey deeper into the subconscious more than the last. Created over the two years of working on The Stars Above release The Stillest Hour, This album was composer Michael Jakucs’ way of taking a step back and producing from another perspective. Sunwarper sees Selles create auditory worlds filled with ghostly synths, warped guitars, booming bass, and field recordings teeming underneath the electronic surface. Taking influence from bands as varied as Boards of Canada, Tycho, Cloudkicker, Eluvium and Explosions in the Sky, Selles combines the ambience and grooves of Electronic chillwave and IDM with the instrumentation and aesthetics of Post-Rock.
